Moving on down the Zevia line we tried the Lemon Lime Twist one. Back in the day I used to be a Sprite fan and since I don’t like drinking sodas full of funky junk I never get a change to drink my lemon lime soda. I’m not saying the organic soda, natural sodas or stevia infused sodas are totally healthy buuuut, I do believe that they are a much, MUCH better alternative.
Check out the ingredients in Sprite: carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, citric acid, natural flavors, sodium citrate and sodium benzoate. But when you have other, more healthier choices such as Zevia, it’s kinda a no brainer.
The ingredients for Zevia include: triple filtered carbonated water, Stevia, Erythritol and Natural Citric Acid.
Now before you get all heeby-jeebied about Stevia, click here to read about in further detail on Zevia’s site. And WTF is Erythritol, you say? “Erythritol is a natural sugar alcohol found in fruits and vegetables, has no calories, and has no effect on blood sugar levels. Erythritol is used in all twelve Zevia All Natural Soda flavors.” This is directly from the Zevia site.
Zevia’s All Natural Soda is NOT a health drink, but it is a great alternative to a better for you soda. Plus it tastes pretty good too. The Lemon Lime was good, but my favorite still is the Black Cherry Soda. It is somewhat difficult to find Zevia at every grocery store, but 2 out of the 3 local ones carry it. And, yes, it is more expensive than that crappy commercial ones, but it is so worth it. You can also buy in bulk at Amazon.com.
