There’s not a huge selection of organic sodas in my main grocery store but they had several varieties of the Santa Cruz bubbly beverages. They sell them separately which is good and bad. Good if I don’t like ’em, I didn’t have to spend more money on soda I most likely won’t drink. But bad if I do, ’cause then I have to make another errand run to get one item at the grocery store — which never happens. The grocery store is like Wal-Mart, you have all the intentions of picking up one item but you usually walk out with at least five.
Why does Root Beer taste so good? I have no idea, but I find it’s best not to question a beautiful thing soda. Santa Cruz offers an organic root beer, I couldn’t turn it down. I had no idea what to expect, the only other organic soda I’ve had was a ginger ale. Would I be blown away with flavor? Would it be bubbly? Would it even taste like the root beer I’m used to?
The answer to those questions are yes but no, not exactly and kinda. The organic root beer tasted flat but I’m not sure if it normally tastes like that or I got a dud can. Although, if it was a little flat, it didn’t have that overly sweet flavor you sometimes get with other sodas. The flavor was good and it tasted just like root beer should. It had a good pronounced “root beer flavor.” One other thing, this is the only root beer I have ever seen that’s kind alike a clear color. I’m used to really dark cola colors. It was a little surprising. The ingredients are: Sparkling filtered water, organic evaporated cane juice, organic root beer flavor, organic lemon juice concentrate and organic vanilla extract. I’m not exactly sure what root beer flavor consists of BUT check out Santa Cruz’s website, it will put your mind at ease that they take the quality of their products very seriously. While I liked Santa Cruz’s root beer, I think I’m going to try out some of the other products they offer first.
