Sippin’ on Ging and Juice

Just like Snoop Dogg rapped “with his mind on his money and his money on his mind,” I’m sippin’ on Gin and Juice.  Errr, make that Ging and Juice.  This juice is, oh so healthy, and a great pick me up in the morning.  I always wake up hungry and thirsty and this really quenches my thirst.  I know people say that a juice like this in the morning can be your breakfast but not me.  I need to eat too.  So if this juice fills you up, great, but I wouldn’t totally count on it.

Ging Juice Recipe

3 Carrots
2 Apples  — I absolutely LOVE Pink Lady apples.
1 or 2 Celery stalks  — I’m not a huge fan and I do think celery has a strong taste, so I base it upon my mood.
1 handful of spinach  OR
1 Broccoli stalk  — This depends on what I have in my fridge.  When I cook with broccoli I don’t use the stems so I try to                                        find other uses and not be wasteful.
1 small piece of ginger  — Honesty I think it;s hard to find the right size of ginger to use.  I used just a nub once and my                                                         juice literally punched my in my face, the ginger bite was so strong.  It’s totally                                                                                  experimental, but don’t use more than a nub.

1/2 Lemon — OPTIONAL

Now let’s go over why these fruits and veggies are good for you.   I’ve gone over apples, carrots and celery nutrition hereSpinach is packed with Vitamins A, B, C, E, and K.  And minerals include, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, potassium and others.  If you’re not fond of eating this leafy green, then juicing is perfect for you.  Spinach does not have a strong flavor/taste when juiced.  I think celery or broccoli has a waaaayyy stronger taste.  Like spinach, Broccoli has equally good stuff for your body too.  Vitamins A, B6, C, E and K, magnesium, folic acid, calcium and anti-oxidants.  Ginger is full of anti-oxidants and other minerals.  Lemon has it’s health benefits too, but I like to add it for flavor.
