New Grist Gluten-Free Beer

It’s really hard to find gluten-free beer. But so far, in my sweet town of Green Bay, I’ve found 2: Redbridge and New Grist. New Grist is the creation from Lakefront Brewery located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. To read all about Lakefront Brewery click here.

New Grist, as I said, is gluten-free and the ingredients are: Sorghum and Rice Extract, Yeast, H2O and Hops.

New Grist is very light tasting, but that’s what I like. I am so not the heavy beer drinker. And after the first one I have a nice little buzzing goin’ on too. With the other gluten-free beer, Redbridge, I do not. New Grist is pale in color with a decent amount of frothy head. And this beer kinda has a sour after taste to it that covers up the slightly fruity flavor in the beginning. I can easily drink more than one of these too. But after 2 or 3 of these the flavor kinda turns my stomach.

Out of the 2 gluten-free beers I’ve had, New Grist wins.
