Zevia Lemon Lime Twist Soda

Posted by on Friday, 15 July, 2011

Moving on down the Zevia line we tried the Lemon Lime Twist one. Back in the day I used to be a Sprite fan and since I don’t like drinking sodas full of funky junk I never get a change to drink my lemon lime soda. I’m not saying the organic soda, natural sodas or stevia infused sodas are totally healthy buuuut, I do believe that they are a much, MUCH better alternative.

Check out the ingredients in Sprite: carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, citric acid, natural flavors, sodium citrate and sodium benzoate. But when you have other, … Read the rest

Zevia All Natural Cola Soda

Posted by on Monday, 20 June, 2011

Zevia is an all natural soda. That means good quality ingredients. As good as a soda can get anyway!

Check out what’s inside:  Carbonated H2O, Stevia, Erythritol, Caramel Color, Tartaric Acid, Fumaric Acid, Caffeine, Natural Flavors.

And if you’re looking at those ingredients and slightly freakin’ out about all that acid stuff in there click here and read about it more on their website. Don’t worry, it won’t take long, so just do it!

And now let’s move on to what inside regular cola soda:  Carbonated Water, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Caramel Color, Citric Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Natural Flavors and … Read the rest

Zevia All Natural Black Cherry Soda

Posted by on Wednesday, 11 May, 2011

Who wants a no sugar, caffeine-free soda that still tastes great? Only in your dreams, right? Wrong! There’s this hot little natural soda floatin’ around called Zevia. It’s sweetened with the Stevia Extract and not real sugar. WTF is stevia? Well, Stevia is a South American herb that has been used as a sweetener by the Guarani Indians of Paraguay for hundreds of years. Give or take a year or two. Supposedly, the leaves of this small, green Stevia rebaudiana plant can be up to 30 times sweeter than sugar. Because this soda is blessed with stevia and not … Read the rest

Blue Sky Natural Cream Soda

Posted by on Monday, 4 April, 2011

Movin’ on down the Blue Sky line I’ve realized that there are some Blue Sky Natural Sodas that I like and some that I don’t. For the most part Blue Sky Organic ones tend are good, just the regular Blue Sky Natural sodas, but the Blue Sky Free sodas or the diet sodas are down right awful, there barely is any flavor — in my opinion. So I’ve been sticking with the Blue Sky Natural sodas and this one I tried was okay. In general I am not a huge fan of Cream Soda, but Blue Sky’s version was pretty … Read the rest

Reed’s All Natural Cherry Ginger Brew Ale

Posted by on Friday, 25 March, 2011

I love Reed’s Original Ginger Brew Ale. I love it so much that I don’t even call it soda, I call it Reed’s. It usually goes like this: a friend asks for a soda and I say I don’t have any soda, but I have a Reed’s.

I like Reed’s Ginger Ale for the fact that it’s not full of garbage. Just natural heavenly good stuff that makes a mean ginger brew. So I decided to try out their Cherry Ginger Brew Ale. And I have to say, it’s only okay. Don’t get me wrong, it is still waaaay … Read the rest

Blue Sky Natural Soda Jamaican Ginger Ale

Posted by on Wednesday, 9 March, 2011

I may be a little of a ginger ale snob since I got hooked on Reed’s but I thought I would give Blue Sky a try seeing how I like some of their other sodas. And I’m sorry I did. Blue Sky Natural Soda Jamaican Ginger Ale is so freakin’ sugary tasting that you can hardly enjoy the ginger part. It’s not that added so much more sugar to this soda but the proportions are waaaaayy off.

The ingredients are: Filtered Carbonated H2O, Real Sugar, Natural Ginger Flavor, Citric Acid and Carmel Color.

The ingredients for Reed’s are: Sparkling filtered … Read the rest

Blue Sky Organic Soda Orange Divine

Posted by on Wednesday, 2 February, 2011

Not enough can be said about Blue Sky. They make Natural soda, Organic Soda, Diet soda and more.  I’m not too into the diet ones, they have little flavor, but I do like their Natural and Organic ones.  This new one I tried is called Orange Divine.  When I was a little kid I used to LOVE grape soda and orange soda.  Don’t ask me why, I was a gross kid.  Well, it’s a good thing that Blue Sky has taken it upon themselves to make me my grape and orange soda but in a better way.  Better … Read the rest

Blue Sky Natural Grape Soda

Posted by on Tuesday, 9 November, 2010

Grape soda has got to be the sickest and most delicious soda of all time.  I’ve always had a thing for grape soda but tried to not drink it because well the ingredients are like a concoction of poison and more poison:

Carbonated Water, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Natural and Artificial Flavor, Tartaric Acid, Citric Acid, Potassium Benzoate (a Preservative) Gum Acacia, Red 40, Blue 1.

See??  Yuck.

So I was a little more than excited when I came across Blue Sky’s version of heaven in a can.  The ingredients are:

Filtered Carbonated H2O, Real Sugar, Natural Grape Flavor, … Read the rest

Santa Cruz Organic Root Beer Sparkling Beverage

Posted by on Monday, 1 November, 2010

I know I’ve said my piece on this particular soda before, but I bought it as a single can and was unsure if my can was a dud.  So I tried it again.

Drum roll please…

Much much better! Hooray! The carbonation was just as it should be and the flavor is true to the root beer taste.  The thing I still can’t get over is the clear color to this soda and not doo-doo brown due to fake coloring.  I will overlook the crazy color simply because it’s waaaay better for my body.

Here are the ingredients: Sparkling filtered … Read the rest

Blue Sky Free Lemon Lime Soda

Posted by on Thursday, 21 October, 2010

Sometimes a girl just wants a lemon lime soda.  Normally I turn to my Santa Cruz Lemon Lime by to my dismay I was out.  After a few deep breaths I saw that we had a Blue Sky version of my beloved soda.  I’ve had a few Blue Sky products and as a whole, I’m a fan.  But this was no ordinary Blue Sky soda in a can, this was Blue Sky FREE.  What’s the free part you ask?  It means it’s diet.  It’s made with fake sugar called Truvia.  It’s the nowadays “healthy” form of sugar.  Honestly, I’m … Read the rest
