Zevia Lemon Lime Twist Soda

Posted by on Friday, 15 July, 2011

Moving on down the Zevia line we tried the Lemon Lime Twist one. Back in the day I used to be a Sprite fan and since I don’t like drinking sodas full of funky junk I never get a change to drink my lemon lime soda. I’m not saying the organic soda, natural sodas or stevia infused sodas are totally healthy buuuut, I do believe that they are a much, MUCH better alternative.

Check out the ingredients in Sprite: carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, citric acid, natural flavors, sodium citrate and sodium benzoate. But when you have other, … Read the rest

Zevia All Natural Black Cherry Soda

Posted by on Wednesday, 11 May, 2011

Who wants a no sugar, caffeine-free soda that still tastes great? Only in your dreams, right? Wrong! There’s this hot little natural soda floatin’ around called Zevia. It’s sweetened with the Stevia Extract and not real sugar. WTF is stevia? Well, Stevia is a South American herb that has been used as a sweetener by the Guarani Indians of Paraguay for hundreds of years. Give or take a year or two. Supposedly, the leaves of this small, green Stevia rebaudiana plant can be up to 30 times sweeter than sugar. Because this soda is blessed with stevia and not … Read the rest

Blue Sky Natural Cream Soda

Posted by on Monday, 4 April, 2011

Movin’ on down the Blue Sky line I’ve realized that there are some Blue Sky Natural Sodas that I like and some that I don’t. For the most part Blue Sky Organic ones tend are good, just the regular Blue Sky Natural sodas, but the Blue Sky Free sodas or the diet sodas are down right awful, there barely is any flavor — in my opinion. So I’ve been sticking with the Blue Sky Natural sodas and this one I tried was okay. In general I am not a huge fan of Cream Soda, but Blue Sky’s version was pretty … Read the rest

Blue Sky Natural Soda Jamaican Ginger Ale

Posted by on Wednesday, 9 March, 2011

I may be a little of a ginger ale snob since I got hooked on Reed’s but I thought I would give Blue Sky a try seeing how I like some of their other sodas. And I’m sorry I did. Blue Sky Natural Soda Jamaican Ginger Ale is so freakin’ sugary tasting that you can hardly enjoy the ginger part. It’s not that added so much more sugar to this soda but the proportions are waaaaayy off.

The ingredients are: Filtered Carbonated H2O, Real Sugar, Natural Ginger Flavor, Citric Acid and Carmel Color.

The ingredients for Reed’s are: Sparkling filtered … Read the rest

Santa Cruz Organic Orange Mango Sparkling Beverage Soda

Posted by on Tuesday, 11 January, 2011

It’s Santa Cruz Time! Woo Hoo!  Man, oh man I do love this brand of bubbly pop.  I just think the company is on the right track, you know.  Read about their environmental commitment here. Aside from the goodness that they try to do I really like the ingredients they use for soda.  I know, I know, why drink soda if it’s so bad for you.  Well, you know what?  I’m not perfect.  There I said it.  Sometimes I crave a soda like nothin’ else.  So I try to at least put the better bad stuff in my body.  Call … Read the rest

Koepsell’s White Rice Popping Corn

Posted by on Thursday, 16 December, 2010

I’m not a fan of microwave popcorn.  I prefer to pop it myself using a healthier oil, sea salt and organic butter.  Not only is it better for you it’s also on the cheaper side, plus you can make as much or all little as you’d like.  Oh yeah, not to mention that it tastes SO MUCH BETTER.

It’s hard to find good quality white rice pop corn. Actually it’s hard to find white popcorn instead of the yellow kind.  The white kind yields less to the farmers but I think that the white tastes better.  It’s more fluffy, … Read the rest

Blue Sky Free Lemon Lime Soda

Posted by on Thursday, 21 October, 2010

Sometimes a girl just wants a lemon lime soda.  Normally I turn to my Santa Cruz Lemon Lime by to my dismay I was out.  After a few deep breaths I saw that we had a Blue Sky version of my beloved soda.  I’ve had a few Blue Sky products and as a whole, I’m a fan.  But this was no ordinary Blue Sky soda in a can, this was Blue Sky FREE.  What’s the free part you ask?  It means it’s diet.  It’s made with fake sugar called Truvia.  It’s the nowadays “healthy” form of sugar.  Honestly, I’m … Read the rest

Santa Cruz Organic Mango Lemonade Sparkling Soda

Posted by on Tuesday, 12 October, 2010

Have I ever told you that I love Santa Cruz’s products?  No?  Instead of a long speech on all things Santa Cruz, I can do it in two words:  Organic. Environment Friendly.  Okay, so that was three, but still, I kept it pretty short and to the point.  Santa Cruz is a green company that produces organic juices, sodas, peanut butter, fruit sauces, dessert toppings and I’m sure more items in the future.  To check out more about this incredible green machine of a company click here.

Now, onto their Mango Lemonade Sparkling Soda.  I believe this is a … Read the rest

Blue Sky Black Cherry Natural Soda

Posted by on Thursday, 2 September, 2010

I’m movin’ on down the Blue Sky trail and trying out all the flavors.  This one was Black Cherry.  And it was delicious.  The thing that I like about this particular brand of soda (besides it being so cheap) is that is has NO artificial flavors.  NO artificial colors.  NO preservatives, caffeine, sodium, GMO, or high fructose corn syrup.  No too shabby, huh?

The ingredients in this can of goodness are: Filtered Carbonated H2O, Real Sugar, Natural Black Cherry Flavor and Citric Acid.  And the taste is really really good.  The cherry flavor isn’t too strong tart or sweet.  And … Read the rest

Reed’s Original Ginger Brew Jamaican Style

Posted by on Saturday, 14 August, 2010

The Reed’s company has the right idea about soda.  They brew it naturally, with actual herbs and spices.  You won’t find food coloring in any of their sodas.  Or cup-fulls of sugar to enhance the taste.  Or added flavorings.  Or chemicals.  Just pure natural brewed soda.  Imagine that.

This isn’t my first experience with Reed’s ginger brew.  The first one I tried you can read about here.  That one had a little too much bite for me but I was still curious about their other flavors. This one, I think, is totally awesome.  It’s everything I want a ginger ale … Read the rest
