New Planet Tread Lightly Ale is a gluten free beer that I’ve been dying to try. I found this delightful brew at Binnys in Chicago. A four-pack will cost you $8.99. Supposedly New Planet Beer will be arriving in Wisconsin sometime in 2013. One can only keep their fingers crossed!

Anyway, this gluten free beer contains 5% alcohol (quite a punch for a light one) and 179 calories per serving. The ingredients include: H2o, Sorghum, Corn Extract, Orange Peel, Hops and Yeast. Apple Celery Swiss Chard Ginger Juice

Posted by on Wednesday, 12 December, 2012

I had some random items sitting in my fridge that I needed to use up or they would go bad. That’s one of the benefits of juicing. Yes, I like having all these wonderful nutrients in a pint glass form, but it also comes in handy when you neglect your fruits and veggies for a while too.

4 Apples
3 Handfuls of Swiss Chard
4 Tall Celery stalks
1 inch of ginger

Chop up all these goodies and drop them in your juicer. The sweetness of the apples completely cover the taste of celery and swiss chard, and the gingerpacks … Read the rest

¾ teaspoon ground black pepper divided
1 pound ground beef
2 cups spaghetti sauce
16 ounces quality ricotta cheese
1 cup fresh basic
2 egg yolks
¼ cup of freshly grated parmesan cheese
1 pound fresh mozzarella cheese sliced

Trim ends off zucchini and … Read the rest

Berry Chia Seed and Kale Smoothie

Posted by on Thursday, 21 June, 2012

This smoothie is VERY similar to the previous smoothie recipe I put up. The only difference is, really, the added kale. It may sound gross but it’s tastes so good, and you don’t really even taste the kale! Honestly. This smoothie gives you a power punch of sustainable energy to start your day with and to keep you going too. The Chia Seeds are so great at putting some protein into your body and keeping your energy levels up throughout the day. Also, I like that this smoothie is vegan. I am NOT vegan, but I still like to eat … Read the rest
