Another red wine produced by Emiliana is the Novas Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot. This wine is made from organic grapes and does contain sulfites but the bare minimum. What’s so great about an organic wine by Emiliana? Well, click here to read my last wine rant and click here to read about the actual vineyard.
This organic cab sav was not my favorite, but it was still good. I thought it was on the sweet side with strong flavors of berries. But maybe that’s just me. After a few sips the sweetness did seem to subside and you could taste the … Read the rest

I’m no stranger of Santa Julia organic wine but I’m no expert either. I have only had the Santa Julia Organic Malbec, so I was thrilled to have my little eyes spy a Santa Julia Organic Cabernet Sauvignon. This Cab Sav will cost you about 12 bucks and it’s worth it. Man, oh man, it’s great to have cheap wine, that’s made with organic grapes and, annndd, gives back to the environment by ways of recycling and energy conservation.
The winery is located in Argentina and not only do they do what’s mentioned above, Santa Julia also does social … Read the rest

I’ve tried another Bonterra Wine before but it was a Chardonnay white. And I liked it, so I thought I would give their Cab Sav a go. Usually I love, love, love Cab Savs. Like, a lot. But this one, in MY opinion, was a little sub par. Most Cab Savs are such full bodied wines with fruity flavor and with this one, I thought, not so much. It was simply okay. Even though Bonterra’s organic wine run under $15 a bottle, I would prefer to spend my hard earned cash on something a little more tasty.
It did … Read the rest

It’s Wine-Time again, get excited!
I live in the wonderful city of Green Bay but it does become not-so-wonderful around January to March-ish due to the icy weather. So what’s a girl to do to keep her warm and toasty inside?? No, not long underwear, try again… WINE. Red wine. And this new one I tried is pretty damn good. OKO is A-OKAY.
OKO is defined as ÖKO
[ÖKO: ökologie > ecology > the interrelationships of organisms in the environment]: The tree, a symbol of nature and life, provides the necessary oxygen for all things in the world to survive.… Read the rest

My oh my, is this wine tasty. Releaf is a blend of 3 different types of reds. It’s mostly a Cab Sav, but here is the percentages to be more on the exact side. 50% Cab Sav, 30% Merlot, and 20% Shiraz. This particular wine is produced in South Africa and has an alcohol content of 13.5%.
As for how this tastes, let’s just say this organic red goes down real easy. You can defintely taste the blackberry and cherry flavors while the shiraz in it gives it that little hint of spice in the end. And you know how … Read the rest

My friends and I all love wine. Personally, I enjoy the reds but I really haven’t met a wine I would say no to. So, this Summer my mission is clear… I want to find AND enjoy some wines that are organic and possibly with no added sulfites. Organic wines mean no pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers or synthetic chemicals of any kind are permitted to be used on the grape vines or in the soil. Also, organic wines use less sulfites. Let me make this clear, ALL wines have sulfites. It’s true. What’s also true is that it would only … Read the rest
