Beet Carrot Celery and Cucumber Juice Recipe

This juice is a quick pick-me-up in the morning or in the afternoon. It’s quick to make and tastes delicious.

Here we go:

4 organic carrots
3 organic celery stalks
1 organic cucumber
1 beet

I’m not usually the biggest fan of beets, but lately I’ve been diggin’ on ‘em a bit more. Maybe I’m getting used to their unique earthy flavor, or the other veggies in my juice are overpowering with their own flavors. Who knows, but try these other beet juice recipes — click here, here and here.

I don’t think it’s necessary to say that … Read the rest

Blackberry Blueberry Orange Pineapple Smoothie

This smoothie is a just delicious. Berries are oh, so good for you and nothing beats a fruit smoothie on a warm day. This smoothie packs a punch of health nuggets such as: Vitamin A, Vitamin B1 and B6, Vitamin C, Vitamin K and Vitamin E. Minerals include Manganese, Potassium, Copper and more. And don’t forget antioxidants. This smoothie brings you plenty of those.

Berries are on the expensive side and I would love to say that I only buy the fresh and organic kind. But I can’t afford the organic ones.

Ouch. Or the fresh ones.

Double ouch.

Samuel Smith’s Organically Produced Lager Beer

Samuel Smith

For those of you who are not familiar with Mr. Samuel Smith’s organic beers, allow me to introduce you. Samuel Smith’s is a small independent British brewery. It was established in 1758 and it’s also Yorkshire’s oldest brewery. Cool, huh? Samuel Smith Brewery offers a variety of ales, stouts, fruit flavored, porters, pale ales, ciders and more. What attracted me to this beer was the fact that it’s organic. That, and it comes in a big pretty bottle. But seriously, I like the fact that this beer is grown without the use of artificial fertilizers or chemical sprays. Oh … Read the rest

Beet Carrot Celery Red Pepper and Tomato Juice

Beet Carrot Celery Red Pepper and Tomato Juice

Beets are not my favorite veggies. At all. Not even close. Buuuut, if I juice ‘em then they’re not so bad. And beets are actually very healthy for you. Beets are loaded with Vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and C. Beets are also a great source of calcium, magnesium, copper, phosphorus and iron. Celery is full of Vitamins A, B and C with rich amounts of calcium and magnesium. The Red Pepper gives you high levels of Vitamin A, C and E. Not to mention other minerals such as potassium, manganese, thiamine, molybdenum, trytophan, copper, cobalt and zinc.

Zevia Lemon Lime Twist Soda

Zevia Lemon Lime Twist All Natural Soda

Moving on down the Zevia line we tried the Lemon Lime Twist one. Back in the day I used to be a Sprite fan and since I don’t like drinking sodas full of funky junk I never get a change to drink my lemon lime soda. I’m not saying the organic soda, natural sodas or stevia infused sodas are totally healthy buuuut, I do believe that they are a much, MUCH better alternative.

Check out the ingredients in Sprite: carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, citric acid, natural flavors, sodium citrate and sodium benzoate. But when you have other, … Read the rest

Santa Julia Organic Cabernet Sauvignon Red Wine 2009

Santa Julia Organic Cabernet Sauvignon Red Wine 2009

I’m no stranger of Santa Julia organic wine but I’m no expert either. I have only had the Santa Julia Organic Malbec, so I was thrilled to have my little eyes spy a Santa Julia Organic Cabernet Sauvignon. This Cab Sav will cost you about 12 bucks and it’s worth it. Man, oh man, it’s great to have cheap wine, that’s made with organic grapes and, annndd, gives back to the environment by ways of recycling and energy conservation.

The winery is located in Argentina and not only do they do what’s mentioned above, Santa Julia also does social … Read the rest

Releaf Chenin Blanc Organic White Wine

Releaf Organic Chenin Blanc White Wine

I do love me some Organic Releaf Red Wine and so I decided it was time to try the Organic Releaf White. White wine tends to be sweet to me and this one was no different. It has a somewhat citrus and tropical flavor to it. But it’s not so over powering. It would go great with a crisp salad, seafood or strawberries as a dessert.

Releaf Wine is a product of South Africa and has an alcohol content is 13%.  And something else that should make you feel good about drinking Releaf is that this particular wine company uses … Read the rest
