I ran in the Door County Half Marathon a few weeks ago and the morning of the race I picked up my bag o’ goodies supplied by the race sponsors. Usually you just get an XXL t-shirt that is completely unwearable, unless I wear it as a dress, and my racing number and forms. But at the bottom of my bag was this Raw Revolution Bar. From the title, you can gather that it’s uncooked. What is it exactly? Well, it’s a combination of things: It’s organic, it’s raw, it’s vegan, it’s soy free, no refined sugars, it’s kosher and it’s GMO free.

The ingredients for the Raw Revolution are: Organic Cashews, Organic Agave Nectar, Organic Dates, Organic Cocoa Powder processed with Alkali Organic Almonds and Organic Sprouted Flax Seeds. This bar is also 91.7% Raw.

As for the taste, I was pleasantly surprised. I’m not a raw foodist, but I do like to eat raw foods when possible. Sometimes I think they’re good and sometimes I think they’re bad. But this one is pretty good. The sweet taste isn’t too strong and blends with the cocoa powder nicely. Also the nuts in there add a nice taste too. The bar is super mushy and looks gross but it’s not too dense as other protein bars so this raw bar goes down easy. I know some people eat this as a meal replacer, I don’t see how that’s possible. I see this as a convienent snack or as a sweets replacer, but not a full meal.

Also this bar is pricey. Almost 2 bucks a bar at my grocery store. But you can buy this online in bulk for cheaps! Check out Amazon.com or even the Raw Revolution website.
