Organic Bonterra Chardonnay White Wine

Normally, I’m a red girl but I won’t say no to whites.  I like whites, I do but sometimes they make a little rumbly in my tumbly.  They’re too sweet and it kinda turns my stomach.  Anyway, I was in the mood for chilled wine on a hot summer day so I grabbed a bottle of Bonterra Chardonnay.  It’s organic, that means it is made with organically grown grapes.  Which that means, no pesticides,  herbicides, chemical fertilizers or synthetic chemicals of any kind are permitted to be used on the grape vines or in the soil.  Awesome.

I found this wine at my local grocery store and it was less than $12.  Not bad for an organic wine.  As for the taste, it was sweet, but honestly not that sweet; I could have had more than one glass without the feeling of “gut rot” as my friend so eloquently puts it.  In the beginning you can taste a strong fruity flavor (kinda apple-y) but it doesn’t over whelm your taste buds.  It was very crisp and light.  Not too dry.  It was a perfect way to unwind in the summer sun.  The alcohol content for this wine is 13.5%.
